The Instituto Allende invites you on an adventure! An adventure in Spanish! Speak, understand, read, write and live Spanish at Mexico's oldest and finest college for foreign students. The Instituto Allende offers year-round programs at various levels and intensities which will speed you on your way to fluency and ease in Spanish.

All of the Instituto Allende's language instructors are native Spanish speakers and knowledgeable in the latest language teaching techniques. The classes are small and courses range from conversational Spanish through intensive Spanish, which is designed to totally immerse the student in the Spanish language. Finally, for the student who wants to learn the language as quickly as possible, the Instituto Allende offers Total Impact Spanish. Total Impact Spanish is offered on a one-to-one basis and can be tailored to suit any special business or professional requirements.

How we Teach

You discover the patterns and structure of Spanish through directed, planned conversation. Speaking is the key. The Instituto is alert to the latest trends in language teaching and we are always adopting new techniques.

Where we Teach

The Spanish language program is conducted indoors and outdoors. The group may meet in a classroom, in the patios of the spacious hacienda that houses the college or even in the town market. Textbooks are fine, but the city of San Miguel itself is the biggest and the best language lab.

Class Size

The language classes are limited to 12 persons. The teacher knows you and knows you must have personal attention.

Study Cycles

The Instituto offers twelve 4-week study cycles annually. These cycles always begin on Monday and their beginning dates are posted in our "SCHEDULE OF CLASSES AND FEES" along with course descriptions and tuition costs.

Faculty

All the Instituto's instructors are well-educated native Spanish speakers with sound professional training and years of experience. They are career teachers.

Academic Credit

One credit is awarded for every 15 hours spent in class. Eight credits may be earned in a 4-week cycle of Intensive Spanish; other courses have proportional values. The Instituto is on the quarter system; three quarter credits equal 2 semester credits.
